CFC Practitioner Licensure & Licensure Exceptions (Exec) (CFC)

Description
Practitioner Licensure and Licensure Exceptions (MDs, PAs, NPs, RDs) (15 min.) Provider licensing for telehealth is a constantly changing area, especially given recent public health emergencies (PHE). Telehealth is generally rendered at the originating site, which is the patient's location, and the provider must be licensed at that location. Provider licensing encompasses various elements: federal laws, which expanded the types of professionals who could provide telehealth services during the PHE, state-specific laws, which can offer multiple types of licenses and had various waivers during the PHE, and the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) that facilitates cross-state licensing. It's essential for telehealth practitioners to keep abreast of these changing regulations, especially as they vary across states and over time.
